Asgaard is a typeface based on extensive research into a unique Danish design phenomenon within typeface design and lettering of the 20th century. My intention was to create a distinctive and functional typeface while subtly incorporating traditional influences that follow the guiding principles discovered during my research and written about in my BA dissertation ‘The echo of architecture in Danish type design of the 20th century’.

The overall engineered design gives Asgaard an appearance with a tech-associated feel while retaining a soft human touch due to the rounded corners and no sharp points. The applied features allow the typeface to perform especially well in situations where legibility is crucial: e.g. user interfaces (UI), information design and signage/wayfinding systems.
