Working Together

Florian works as an extension of creative teams, bringing specialist type expertise to identity, branding and communication projects. Global Script Fonts

Florian works across Latin and a wide range of world writing systems, with experience designing and developing typefaces in Armenian, Cyrillic, Devanagari, Georgian, Greek and Hebrew.

Multiscript projects often require more than simply adapting letterforms from one script to another. Florian considers the relationship between scripts as part of a unified typographic system, working to maintain consistency in tone, proportion, rhythm and overall visual character across languages.

Background

Florian holds an MA in Typeface Design from the University of Reading. He has contributed to type education by mentoring students and teaching type design workshops and has been involved in the wider type community through research, writing and contributions to Fonts In Use.

His interests extend beyond typeface design into the history of type and graphic design, multi-script typography and the relationship between type design, technology and visual identity.
